We did not ‘belong’ to each other. There was nothing holding us together except those spider’s silk threads of understanding. There were a great many days when I wondered why he put up with me. In the end, it was because I put up with him.
There was never any more between us than easy conversation, comfort and warm silences, even though many people thought otherwise. Still, he ignored the whispered ridicule and pointed looks, urging me to do the same.
I think for a long time I suspected something was wrong, but it wasn’t until he drifted into sleep during one of our silences that I accepted it.
I’d had no choice. Even at rest, his heart set a racing, wavering counterpoint to my own steady beat. My breathing was next to silent, compared to the rough, slightly wet rasp of his. In those moments of dawning comprehension, I think my own heart made an effort to match his, but I coul
SilhouetteA crack of thunder echoed over the hillside. As had been promised for weeks, an immense electrical storm had struck. All had gone home, to find safety with family. All but one. One stood alone, atop the hill. The arms of the lone man were outspread, as if welcoming the lightning home. One particularly bright flash blinded all eyes. Once vision had cleared, the silhouette was no longer visible.
No-one knows who he was.
No-one knows what happened to him.
Only one person remembers him.
No-one believes me.
FlowersBlood ran down his arm and mixed with the soil under his hand. A great coughing fit wracked his already weakened body, and arms shook with the effort of holding himself up. As he crumpled to the ground, one final thought crossed his mind: 'Here, at least, flowers will always grow.'

Doubts are overcoming,
the dominant trait over doubtless,
that's how I ended up
feeling like this.
So, many times I'd lay awake wondering,
if the stars that I saw in the sky,
were the same that you saw,
and the moon was in that same world as my sigh.
Sighs of discontent and doubt,
yes I can't live without you,
but sometimes I don't believe that,
and wonder if you'd think that was true.
But then there were the nights,
when I'd open my curtains,
and look at the stars
and I was certain...
We saw the same things,
just with different eyes,
mine were opened wide,
and if you had them,everything would be a surprise.
So maybe I just have to wait,
until you see what I see,
because I know someday,
you may feel the same about me...
